The Castleton manuscript was the focus of the 9 November 2016 transcribathon. The event took place at the Universities of Akron, Essex, Texas (Arlington) and Saskatchewan, Pacific Lutheran University, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Huntington Library, the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and elsewhere on planet earth!

Lady Grace Castleton’s recipe book contains directions for making everything from medicine to desserts to wine. At the end of the day, we completed a full keying of Folger Manuscript V.a.600, and the text is searchable online here.
